If you’re not careful and stray from reality in the wrong places, you’ll end up in the Backrooms, where it’s just the stench of old, damp carpet, mono-yellow craziness, background noise endless fluorescent lights buzzing at maximum and about six hundred million square miles of randomly segmented empty rooms to be trapped in.
God save you if you hear something wandering nearby, for he has certainly heard you.
We’re assuming you’re an average person who, due to unfortunate circumstances, has wandered off (more accurately, hasn’t been cut off) from reality and appeared in a bizarre new “world”. We would like to inform you that you are in the “Backrooms”. Many other people, just like you, are stuck in this dimension. Do not panic ; you’ve come to the right place for answers. First of all, you should always try to have some company on your side, as there are entity reports here. Travelers arriving here prefer to organize the different areas into distinct “tiers” based on their characteristics. Each level – apparently randomly generated – differs so much that it becomes necessary to use a guide. Many travelers like you have found themselves in Levels 0, 1, 2, and even Level 3 or higher. This wiki can help you on your journeys through the Backrooms, and perhaps with each discovery you can provide information to everyone to make their journey here a little easier.
What are Backrooms?
The Backrooms are a maze of randomly segmented rooms and hallways. The first and best-known level of the Backrooms consists of three distinct features: buzzing fluorescent lights, yellow-stained walls, and aging beige rugs. Currently, there are 3 generally recognized levels, with other levels unconfirmed. Each level has its own unique set of familiar characteristics. Except for the aforementioned traits, each level contains a variety of different items. Examples of these include random items, ranging from furniture, to tools, to weapons, and more. Some of the items behind the scenes can be very useful and can sometimes be the difference between life and death. Backrooms are generally seen as warping a wanderer’s mind towards what they think is most monotonous while retaining their core elements. Many see it as one thing, while others see it as another. The levels also contain various different creatures, which may attack you or pay no attention to you – their behavior is apparently as random as the Backrooms themselves. The existence of “monsters” is somewhat supported by the fact that, apparently, no one has ever officially been released from the Backrooms. Unfortunately, most people who come across these entities only occasionally post a strange image or story before their accounts go dark.
